Up just over a tenth of a percent for the week. It ended up at about the same place as the stock market (up a tenth of a percent), but took a different road to get there. No changes this week. On October 16th, the strategy remained at:
44% SPY , 40% TLT , 16% GLD

If an investor has 100000 to invest and starting today, which of the following strategy is likely to result in the higher return in one year?
(1) invest all 100 thousands on day 1
Or
(2) invest in 5 parts of 20 K each
I suspect #1. This is the best article (series of articles) I’ve seen on the topic. https://ofdollarsanddata.com/dollar-cost-averaging-vs-lump-sum/ and it essentially says investing fully from day one is best. Let me say though I’ve never investigated it with geometric balancing, so I’m just guessing.
In the long run, in most cases lump sum is the right thing to do. But higher return in ONE year? Sounds more like a casino bet.
